All thy house and baby-sprinklers

Acts 16:31 (KJV) And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Some who practice baby “baptism” use this verse as justification. Even though scripture does not mention any babies, pedobaptists believe that the phrase “all thy house” would indicate that babies or toddlers were present. Not only is it bad practice to develop teachings on what one reads between the lines of scriptures, if one were to take the verse in context and read further, one would see that scripture does in fact tell us that babies were not present. Read verse 34:

And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

Notice it states that all his house believed in God – something a baby could not do.
