1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Many people will say that God is all-loving based on the above verse. They think God will forgive everything and not send anyone to Hell because an all-loving God surely would not do that. What they’ve really done, though, is make a god to suit themselves. They don’t want to give up their sins so they create a god who is OK with their sins – a god who will not judge them or punish them for their sins. They’ve created a god in their own image.
God is love – but he is not all-loving. Their is a difference – a big difference. The depth and magnitude of God’s love can never be completely understood, but he does not love everything.
So if God is not all-loving, what are some things he doesn’t love? Here are a few:
Deuteronomy 16:22 Neither shalt thou set thee up any image; which the LORD thy God hateth.
Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Zechariah 8:17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.
Revelation 2:6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate.
Have you created a god that condones and winks at your sin? The one true God does not. He requires perfection. If you cannot attain unto perfection, you better find someone who was perfect for you. That one is the Lord Jesus Christ. If you want to spend eternity in a perfect Heaven with a perfect God, you better be found clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Repent of your sins (forsake them) and trust Christ today.
