Wearing out your welcome

Proverbs 25:17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour’s house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

Are you always the last one to leave a get-together? When you are over someone’s house, does the host ever seem to have to almost push you out the door? You may have started out as good friends, but over process of time because of you staying longer than you should, your friend may have become weary of you and started to hate having you around.

Wouldn’t you rather leave earlier than you think you should and have people say “I wish they would have stayed longer” than stay longer than you should and have people say “I thought they would never leave!” Even though you enjoy someone’s company, it is better for you if you would cut the time short so others will look forward to seeing you again.
