Matthew 27:24-25 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. 25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
Notice the Jews said to Pilate that they knew that Jesus’ blood was on their hands. Now notice what they said later:
Acts 5:28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
They were mad at the early disciples because the disciples were preaching Jesus and were only doing what the Jews wanted before Jesus was crucified. His blood was upon on their hands. If you are not saved, his blood is upon your hands too.
