The Lord Jesus Christ

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

What does believing on the Lord Jesus Christ mean?

  • Lord: He is God
  • Jesus: He is man (Jesus was the name given to him when he was born a man)
  • Christ: He is the Messiah (deliverer, saviour)

To be saved, you must believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the son of God, became man to be the perfect sacrifice for sin, and that he can deliver us from our sins.

  1. I was raised Catholic, but when I went to my friend’s church who’s Baptist a few months ago, they gave me a bible and after I read it, I found out that the Catholic church weren’t all that true. They only preached some of Jesus’ teachings and also preached stuff that are man made. Catholics believe that goin to church and attending a ritual will save them, but it’s really accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and only by his blood will wash us from errors. So I committed my life to him. Went from Catholicism to Protestantism. There’s alot of people leavin Catholic church.

  2. Great to hear you are reading the Bible! I, too, was raised as a Catholic and was saved at the age of 25 after attending a Baptist church a few times.

One thing though, Baptists are not Protestants. Baptists never were part of Catholicism. There have been Baptists since the time of Christ (although many were called by other names). A great book to read on the subject is “A Concise History of Baptists” by G.H. Orchard.

Got something to say?
