Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Many people use this verse to encourage others to have plans – or a vision – for the future. While it is a good idea to plan for the future, this verse does not address this topic. The second part of the verse gives a clue to what the first part means. The second part refers to the word of God. In the first part, when it says “vision,” it is referring to God’s word. If God’s word is not given to people, they will perish. For it is by God’s word that man must live.
