More than conquerors

Monday, October 30th, 2006 at 12:58 pm

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Romans 8:37

I’ve often wondered what exactly is meant by more than conquerors. I know that a conqueror is someone who defeats someone else. I’ve heard that being more than a conqueror is kind of like a blowout in a sports game. I think it is a lot more than that. I think being more than a conqueror means we’ve already won before we even start. It means that the battles we go through will only make us stronger, not weaker. When persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, or sword come our way, we need not worry, for God is for us. He will freely give us all things. No charges can be held to our account since he has justified us. No one can condemn us, for Christ has already died for us and now intercedes for us. We are not only on the winning side. We are on the side of the one who is all powerful.

Stem Cell Research

Wednesday, October 25th, 2006 at 4:39 pm

Check out StemCellResearch.org. They have a score card that shows how many diseases and injuries that have been successfully treated with adult stem cells (found in bone marrow) and those that have been successfully treated with embryonic stem cells (those taken from murdered babies). The score is 72-0.

So why aren’t more people pushing for adult stem cell research?

Who told?

Saturday, October 14th, 2006 at 9:34 pm

And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob. 42 And these words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah: and she sent and called Jacob her younger son, and said unto him, Behold, thy brother Esau, as touching thee, doth comfort himself, purposing to kill thee. Genesis 27:41-42

In verse 41, Esau said in his heart, not out loud, that he will slay his brother Jacob. In verse 42, those words were told to Rebekah. Who told her?

Lack of knowledge

Friday, October 6th, 2006 at 10:25 pm

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Hosea 4:6

The people were destroyed because of the lack of knowledge. But what kind of knowledge? Look at the last half of the verse. They forgot the law of God. People are destroyed when they forget the law of God. Is it any wonder Satan has worked and is working so hard to get and keep the Ten Commandments out of our schools and other public places? Satan knows the people will be destroyed if they do not know the law of God. Why are people destroyed for not knowing the law of God? The law of God brings the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20, Romans 7:7). People will not know they are sinners without knowing the law of God. The law also brings us to Christ (Galatians 3:24).

Let us counter the efforts of the devil. Let us post the Ten Commandments. Let us fight to get the Ten Commandments posted back in our schools and public places. Let us help prevent the destruction of the people.

Alcohol at weddings

Sunday, October 1st, 2006 at 9:24 pm

I think I’ve found the justification some people use for getting drunk at weddings:

Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Proverbs 31:6
