Some Important Questions

Friday, September 30th, 2005 at 12:49 pm

We often are told that the Bible is a book of answers. It does in fact answer some of the greatest questions: how did life start, what is our purpose, how do we get to Heaven to name just a few. The Bible also asks many great questions. Fortunately for us, it provides the answers to those questions. Some of those questions are found towards the end of Romans 8.

The First Question: Romans 8:31

What shall we then say to these things?

To understand the answer to this question, we must first back up and find out what "these things" are.

Stem Cell Success Again!

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005 at 9:30 pm

As was the case on an earlier post I made about a successful use of stem cells, this case also was a successful use of adult stem cells. World Net Daily reports on a paraplegic woman who was treated with umbilical cord stem cells (considered adult stem cells). Just over two weeks after the treatment, feeling and movement had been restored in her hips.

The truly amazing part about this story though is that we won’t see any mention of it in the mainstream media – that might hurt their agenda of killing babies for the sake of harvesting embryonic stem cells.

The Lord Jesus Christ

Tuesday, September 27th, 2005 at 2:28 pm

Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

What does believing on the Lord Jesus Christ mean?

  • Lord: He is God
  • Jesus: He is man (Jesus was the name given to him when he was born a man)
  • Christ: He is the Messiah (deliverer, saviour)

To be saved, you must believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the son of God, became man to be the perfect sacrifice for sin, and that he can deliver us from our sins.

Bitterness

Friday, September 23rd, 2005 at 7:54 pm

Hebrews 12:14-15 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

Be careful about getting bitter: it will take root, spring up, and defile many. Your bitterness will hurt many. Let go of that bitterness and follow peace with all men.

Why did God give us children?

Friday, September 23rd, 2005 at 7:47 pm

So we would know what it feels like to have something created in our image that would deny our very existence.

Salvation

If salvation is part faith and part works, the whale would have spit Jonah out a few miles from shore and let him swim back.
