The prophets preached the Lord Jesus Christ and salvation

Saturday, January 31st, 2004 at 6:33 pm

Acts 10:43 (KJV) To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Acts 26:22-23 (KJV) Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: 23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should show light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

Acts 28:23 (KJV) And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.

Romans 3:21-22 (KJV) But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

The Bible is the Word of God

Saturday, January 31st, 2004 at 6:23 pm

Romans 3:2 (KJV) Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.

Oracles means things spoken. The scriptures – the Bible – are the very words of God.

The Bible’s middle verse

Thursday, January 29th, 2004 at 1:33 am

The is the central verse in the Bible:

Psalm 118:8 (KJV) It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

Notice that the center of the center verse is the LORD. The Bible is centered on God. It is centered on trusting God rather than trusting man. Trusting God rather than man means trusting God’s word rather than man’s word. For example, we should trust God’s word and what it says about the beginning of the earth rather than trusting man’s word and what man says about the beginning of the earth.

Need God’s help?

Tuesday, January 27th, 2004 at 10:35 am

Psalm 116:6 (KJV) The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

Before God will help you, you must come to him in humility.

Pro-choice?

Friday, January 23rd, 2004 at 2:23 pm

Pro-choice is not really pro-choice. Better names are Anti-consequence or Pro-irresponsibility. Giving access to murdering babies (also known as abortion) is not about choice. The people made the choice to engage in the act. They are really trying to avoid the consequences of their actions – to avoid taking responsibility. Before you object and say what about cases of rape, please tell me exactly how many in-utero baby murders are committed in cases of rape? What miniscule percentage? Don’t justify the millions of murders by bringing up such a small fraction of the total. It’s time Americans got back to taking responsibility for their actions. It’s time Americans got back to living morally.

No Fear means no wisdom

Thursday, January 22nd, 2004 at 11:54 am

Psalm 111:10 (KJV) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Since the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, those who proclaim “No Fear” are really telling us they have no wisdom.

God is reverend

Thursday, January 22nd, 2004 at 11:43 am

Psalm 111:9 (KJV) He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

Don’t call man what is reserved for God.

His own blood

Wednesday, January 21st, 2004 at 8:04 am

Acts 20:28 (KJV) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

There are some who say that Jesus is not God. The Lord Jesus Christ is the one who shed his blood for our sins. Notice in this verse that “his” in “his own blood” refers back to God. God (Jesus) purchased the church of God with his own blood.

All the counsel of God

Wednesday, January 21st, 2004 at 7:54 am

Acts 20:27 (KJV) For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.

Paul taught all the counsel of God. That means that there are not any new doctrines that still need to be discovered or developed or finalized. Do you belong to a church that has introduced new teachings over the years? Do you belong to a church that considers declaring new teachings? If so, you are not a member of God’s church; you belong to a false church. One may argue that your church is only making a teaching official. If that is the case, then somewhere along the line your church lost the teaching that Paul taught to the first century churches. That means your church hasn’t always taught all the counsel of God and that your church is just an imitation.

Opposing yourself

Monday, January 19th, 2004 at 2:15 pm

Acts 18:6 (KJV) And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

If you don’t believe the gospel and the gift of salvation without works, you are rejecting God’s word. If you reject God’s word, you reject Jesus Christ. When you reject Jesus Christ, you are fighting against yourself – you oppose yourself.
